About Ann Holtby Jones:

Ann is the product of living in various towns and cities throughout Saskatchewan, the offspring of two creative parents, and the result of a long line of horse traders.

She started painting in oil when her four children were growing up; the subjects were landscapes, First Nations people, and of course, horses.

She began watercolor after moving to the East Kootenays in 1980. She painted a great number of the Fort Steele Clydesdales and landscapes of places throughout the region where she rode & hiked. Mules began appearing on the paper after falling in love with them at a draft horse show in the early eighties.  In the late nineties, she roamed across the prairie provinces, and finally returned home to her beloved Kootenays in 2004 to open the Ann Jones Fine Art Gallery in Kimberley, BC. Mostly self-taught, with the help and inspriation of different workshops over the years, she brings her wonderful creative touch to her paintings, with an expert hand and versatile abilities.

Ann:  "I am grateful for the opportunity to share my vision of this land with others, and fortunate that there has been so much support for my art during my career"
